ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT/ PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMMES (OD/PIP)
Beyond the functional areas of management, however, we have expanded our consultancy repertory to include a particular effective methodology first introduced by the United Nations and called Organizational Development/ Performance Improvement Programming (OD/PIP).
The OD/PIP is a consulting and training methodology which aims at bringing about planned and systematic change in an organization. It focuses on the entire organizational structure and mobilises the organization’s major arms of production, personnel, finance and marketing into an effective cooperative machinery for achieving greater productivity. The Centre has already used it very successfully in a number of Federal Government Parastatals in Nigeria and is prepared to apply this method if invited to do so.
CAPACITY BUILDING
As a strategy for enhancing the number and quality of manpower within the Nigerian economy, CMD established a number of professional management associations, among which are:
- Nigerian Association of Management Consultants (NAMCON) (an association of management consulting firms)
- Institute of Management Consultants of Nigeria (IMCON) (an Institute of individual management consultants)
- Nigerian Association of Schools and Management Education and Training (NASMET)
- Nigerian Marketing Association (NIMARK)
- Nigerian Association of Small-Scale Industrialists (NASSI).
This network of institutions facilitates our task of promoting high national standard of professionalism in management education, consulting, training and marketing in Nigeria.
