THE FUNCTION OF THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT (EBDD)

INTRODUCTION

One of the core statutory functions of the Centre for Management Development (CMD) is developing and promoting high national standard of management education entrepreneurship development and supervision.

This function appropriately mandates the Centre to be involved in entrepreneurship development in the country.

CURRENT STRUCTURE OF EBDD

The department has two divisions which implement the mandate. Thefunctions of the divisions are as follows:

ENTERPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT DIVSION (EDD)

  • designing and implementing scheduled/in-plant training programmes on small and medium- scale enterprises development and management;
  • managing small and medium enterprises and agro-allied ventures ;
  • providing advisory services to the government on entrepreneurship development;and
  • developing poverty alleviation programmes.

MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES DIVISION (MSMES) DIVISION

  • providing advisory services to small and medium scale entreprises;
  • organising scheduled and In-plant programmes on small industries development/li>
  • providing consultancy services to SME operators ;
  • counselling start-ups; and
  • collaborating with identified SMEs/Agro allied operators for training anddevelopment.
